Which GEAK width does your Garmin take?

Vivoactive 3, 4, 5 and 6 and the Forerunner 55, 245, 645 and 745 take 20mm. Venu and Venu 2 take 20mm; the small Venu 2S and 3S take 18mm. Instinct and Instinct 2 take 22mm, and the big Fenix 5X, 6X, 7X and 8 take 26mm.

Will a GEAK Garmin band come off your watch without a tool?

Yes, across the shelf. The spring bar has a lever at one end, so the strap comes off with a fingernail and goes back on in seconds. It is the same fitting Garmin uses itself, so a strap bought by width fits watches Garmin never sold it for.

Can you put a 22mm GEAK band on a 20mm Garmin?

No, and it is worth being blunt about it. Two millimetres of extra width will force in, sit crooked and work the spring bar loose over a week or two. The width is the whole of the fit question on a Garmin.

Which GEAK Garmin strap suits a watch you run in?

Silicone or nylon. Both take sweat and both wash; the nylon breathes better in summer and the silicone wipes clean in seconds. Leather and steel are for the days the watch is not moving.

A strap is a strap. It does not change what a watch measures, it does not make a watch more water-resistant than the watch already is, and nothing here is a medical device. Stainless steel releases small amounts of nickel, and nickel is the most common cause of allergic contact dermatitis in the United States; anyone who reacts to costume jewellery should read the material line before buying a mesh band. A band worn tight enough to leave a mark is worn too tight, and a rash under a watch is a reason to take the watch off and ask a clinician rather than to buy a different colour.
