Which GEAK band fits your watch

Every watch this catalogue is cut for, the width or case run to look for on each one, and six things to settle before you order.

Garmin, by lug width

Garmin runs four widths, and the width is the whole of the fit question. The name of the watch does not tell you the number - the slot the old strap sat in does.

Samsung Galaxy Watch, on one width

Samsung has kept a 20mm lug from Galaxy Watch 4 onwards, and one strap covers most of a decade of watches.

Apple Watch, by case size

No lug width at all. Apple keeps two runs of case size, and a band cut for the small run will not go on an Ultra.

Six checks

What to settle before you order

None of these takes longer than two minutes, and every one of them is a reason people order twice.

  1. 01

Read the name off the back

The model is engraved on the case back, under the sensor window. That name is what every band page on this site names, so it settles the question without a ruler.

  2. 02

Measure the lug on a Garmin or a Galaxy

Take the old strap off and measure across the slot it sat in. Eighteen, twenty, twenty-two or twenty-six: those are the four widths that exist, and the reading is not a preference.

  3. 03

Read the case size on an Apple Watch

There is no lug width. The number on the back of the case puts you in one of two runs, and a band is cut for one run or the other.

  4. 04

Buy a Fitbit strap by tracker name

A Charge strap and a Versa strap are different mouldings. Neither is measured in millimetres, and neither goes on the other family.

  5. 05

    Decide about metal before colour

Steel releases small amounts of nickel, and nickel is the commonest contact allergen in the country. If costume jewellery marks you, the silicone and the nylon do the same job.

  6. 06

Treat a pack as a wardrobe

A multipack is one strap in ten or fifteen colours rather than ten of the same. The colours come as a set, so take it for the variety and not for the spare.

Where the GEAK range is kept

Five shelves, cut by the watch rather than by the material.

Every width, every colour

Every width and colour in the GEAK selection sits behind this button, with the price from our last update against each one.
